JUNIOR DAFFODIL PARADE (5 April 2008)
This is a fun time for everyone. You start at 0800 hours in the morning and you are done by 1200. Wear something that indicates you are member of ESAR. You will be given jobs to help coordinate the Parade. As you can tell it does not take a lot of time. Meet at 0800 at the Mason Methodist Church, 27th & No Madison, which is 1 block west of Proctor Street. Everyone in ESAR is welcome to work this Parade. You do not have to be a Brushmonkey to work. This is good Public Relations for ESAR. Bring your rain gear, it looks like it is going to rain. If you can help out call Polly Towle, 253-851-4572 (Home), 253-279-8960 (Cell) or Curt Read at 253-227-6995 or email curtread@hotmail.com.
ESAR BANQUET (6 April 2008)
All of you by now should have received the flyer in the mail about the Banquet on the 6th of April at the Peace Community Church, 21st & Cushman Street. If you did not get information this is for those of you who did not get the notice. The Banquet will start at 1700 hours; you are to bring your favorite main dish or a dessert. Now remember, you are feeding some young people with bottomless pits, they call stomachs. You know what it takes to fill it, so bring enough for you and a couple of other people, they are called “teenagers”. It is a time for the new Brushmonkeys to receive their Brushmoney Certificates. It will be a time to purchase those items that will identify you as a member of ESAR. Drinks will be provided by ESAR. Do not stay at home if you are not going to receive a Brushmonkey Certificate. This is a Banquet for all members of ESAR. Others will also be honored for past and present activity in ESAR. It is a time for the old members and the new members to meet each other before that search we always seem to start in the middle of the night. Come and meet your new team partners.
DAFFODIL PARADE (12 April 2008)
It is time to have some fun. Come out and join ESAR for the Daffodil Parade on April 12th. It starts in Tacoma at 1000 hours, but we still will meet at 0800 near the Fireman’s Park at 7th & Pacific Ave. It is best if you park somewhere near the end of the Tacoma Parade, which ends near the Union Station. You can get dropped off and ride in the van to the other parades. We will go from Tacoma to Puyallup, Sumner, and then finish in Orting.
Bring your 48 hour pack but take everything out and fill it with something light (crumpled newspapers, pillow, popcorn, etc.) Dress for any weather (bring your rain gear). Wear anything you have that has ESAR on it and bring your ESAR hats. We may issue our orange vests so we all look alike. You need to look good because you will be on TV. Bring your water, lunch, snakes, gear, good attitude and be ready to have fun.
If you have little one’s bring them along. They can ride in the van and help the driver.
Let me know if you are coming so I know what to expect and if you are bring anyone else (kiddies).
